Hi friends! Just wanted to give a short update with a few of the side projects I've been working on. Enjoy!
It's incredible how fast the last few months have gone by! With a combination of graduation, moving home, starting a full time internship, freelancing part-time, running an Etsy shop (and starting a 2nd shop), and volunteering in my spare time the summer is already half way gone. But thankfully I have been able to keep my priorities organized and slowly produce a few new exciting projects. I have been continuing to work on improving my typography with the goal that by the end of the summer I will have grasped the daunting concept of ... (dun dun dun) ... HAND LETTERING! Of course I fully expect my hand lettering to be completely goofy looking but I look forward to overcoming the hurdle of being afraid to try because I know it will take a lot of time and practice.
Another area I am excited to get working on is improving my photography skills and learning more about my camera in order to take full advantage of it's capabilities. Another goal for the summer is to practice my photo retouching skills since I know that is incredibly beneficial when it comes to post-production.
I'm going to keep this post short and promise to try to update a lot more often! :) Below are a few of the smaller things I've been working on to stay busy. Enjoy!
Excited to announce that one of my side projects will be showcased in an upcoming gallery show hosted by Winona State University! ArtMuse is a student exhibition featuring 26 artists juried by Jason Pearson, Curator of Education at the Rochester Art Center in Rochester, MN.

With only a couple more months until graduation I am finally starting to realize what I am most passionate about. Unfortunately, this sudden realization also made me take a step back and honestly critique my portfolio work. Now for anyone who knows me, I think most would agree that I'm not the type of person to whip up a project and call it a day. So with that being said, I need to crack open a red bull and realize that it's crunch time!
